Версия мода: beta1
Hi! First of all, sorry for typing in English, I don't speak any Russian. I just finished my first playthrough of this mod and loved it, so I thought I'd share some feedback about what I liked and did not.
To not make this a wall of text, I will just touch on some positives, and then explain my thoughts more deeper on the things that were questionable to me.
TLDR: I love this mod - a lot, actually, to the point that it is one of my favorites now - and will certainly play again, but some things were weird...
THINGS THAT I LOVED:
- Exploration, how rewarding it is, and how much stuff there is on the ground.
- Transmutation.
- Replayability (I will certainly play again!).
- Special perks and auras.
- Unique weapons and armor.
- New location was very nice.
- The trophies on the back were cool.
- Economy (a lot of NPCs buying stuff from you, etc.).
- The new quests (eg. Gerbrandt), and a lot of fun, very light dialogues.
- Overall, the mod seems very well thought-out, so good job on that!
THINGS THAT ARE QUESTIONABLE:
- Dexterity slashing weapons not scaling with dexterity - it seems very weird to me, considering these weapons are notably weaker than strength weapons. What is the point of making dex weapons if they scale with strength? I am aware that the piercing weapons do scale with dexterity, and that was nice, but still, I do think the slashing ones just cannot compete with strength weapons, especially at the start of the game before you get any "relevant" piercing weapons.
- Berserker's Ring (+XP per hit) - I have no clue why this is in the game. While I personally didn't "abuse" it, and it didn't cause me any problems (so it isn't necessary), that item just encourages me to equip a trash weapon and keep hitting for 5 damage to get as much XP as possible. I hate that feeling of missing out because I'm playing the game the intended way (of actually trying to do as much damage as I can). What might be the issue is perhaps the interaction between this and the Vampire's Ring, that essentially completely negates the downside of the ring, and allows me to farm XP indefinitely.
- 2H weapon animations - this is maybe not as much of a downside, as it is a disappointment. The mod is so well-thought-out, and playing 2H absolutely SUCKS because of the obnoxious animation locks. I really, really wish the animation was smoother and/or faster like it is in Returning for example. Here, when I press S with a two-hander, I can quite literally go to the toilet, and the animation still won't have finished by the time I come back.
- Lockpicking - at some point in the game, I started bending A LOT of lockpicks even when doing the combinations right, to the point that I quickly ran out of lockpicks. I would lose a lockpick every two or three combinations. I am unsure if this is a mechanic that wasn't properly explained or a bug, but it kind of made opening chests impossible for me without the HackChest plugin.
- Teleport runes costing 50 mana - why? I did have a lot of mana by the time I got any TPs, but having to refresh my mana with potions every time I want to teleport between locations wasn't a lot of fun. I hope this is an oversight because this change makes zero sense to me.
One question at the end - is there any way the mod gets translated into other languages? I am asking because some mod creators do not share the scripts with others for translation purposes - hypothetically if a well-known group proposes translating, would you agree to that?
