В процессе Killing Trolls

I am lvl 34 militiaman, chapter 4, normal difficulty and so far haven't managed to kill a single troll. Once HP pool drops to a third the troll growls and I loose all of my HP. Am I missing something?

It all depends on your HP and the type of troll. Let's say it's a regular troll, you'll need about 1000 HP, if it's a mountain troll, then more.
And if you're facing a small one, 800 HP might be enough. The tactic is simple: gradually reduce HP until the first roar - drain HP jars, then hit it until the second roar, then again. As soon as it roars a third time, you can completely extinguish it.
